Praise For In-Bloom Volunteers On Judging Day

Market Harborough’s In Bloom volunteers have been praised today during judging for this year’s East Midlands In Bloom competition.

The Judge was given a tour to see floral displays, including in the town centre and Welland Park, and also visited the Stevens Street allotments.

The In Bloom team work with Harborough District Council’s contractor FCC Environment and town businesses to ensure the displays look as good as possible.

Judge Judith Warner spoke to Hfm at the Rose Garden in the park:

This year’s displays have been based on songs – Whiter Shade of Pale, Sunny Afternoon, Purple Rain and Some Like It Hot.

Barbara Tallis, Chair of the In Bloom volunteers, spoke to Hfm ahead of the judging:

Market Harborough won a gold award in the Large Town category in 2019 – the contest didn’t happen last year because of the pandemic and the results of this year’s will be announced in September.
