Market Harborough’s Wilko To Stay Open For Now

Market Harborough’s Wilko store is to stay open for now.
The shop in St Mary’s Place is not one of 52 which will close next week, but workers continue to face an uncertain future.

Administrators PwC say the first store closures, which will result in the loss of over 1,300 jobs, are due to the ‘absence of viable offers’ for the whole company.
They are continuing to try and find a buyer, but no deal has yet been reached.
Rival B&M has agreed to buy some Wilko stores and it is understood these will be in areas where they do not already have an outlet.
