Market Harborough Cemetery To Be Extended

The cemetery in Market Harborough is to be extended into the grounds of Harborough Leisure Centre.
It will allow an additional 76 burial plots to be created at the Northampton Road site, which will soon be at capacity.
The cemetery will be extended into an area of the Harborough Leisure Centre grounds
New trees and hedging will be planted as part of the scheme, which was approved by Harborough District Council last night.
The planning committee heard Sports England had no objection to the plan.
The extension will provide additional space at the cemetery, while a search continues for a site for a new cemetery in the town.
