A man has been jailed for causing the death of a motorcyclist at one of Harborough’s most notorious accident blackspots.
Admir Isufaj failed to give-way at the Wistow crossroads and his Mini collided with a bike being ridden by 55-year-old Steven Duval from Leicester, who died from his injuries in hospital.
Isufaj, 26, of no fixed address, fled the scene of the crash on foot and was arrested a few days later in Liverpool.
He pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving on September 26th last year and has been jailed for two years and four months at Leicester Crown Court and been banned from driving for seven years.

Detective Constable Charlotte Wright, from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) was the officer in the case. She said: “Isufaj first failed to stop and give way at the crossroads, as he should’ve done. He also failed to stop at the scene of the collision – where he should have reported it to police and called for help. Instead, he left on foot.
“He actively tried to evade arrested and travelled to Liverpool. However he was found and arrested.
“I would like to offer my condolences to Mr Duval’s family. I know no sentence will ever be enough to bring him back. I hope the fact Isufaj has been jailed for his crime will bring about a degree of closure.”
