Man Dies In Crash On A6 Near Kibworth

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal crash on the A6 near Kibworth this morning.
It happened on Harborough Road just after 5.45am and involved a single vehicle – a grey Mazda 3 Tamura – which left the road and came to rest in a ditch.
A man who was one of the passengers in the vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and three other passengers, a woman and two men were all taken to hospital.
Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A 27-year-old man was arrested by police at the scene and remains in custody.

The car was travelling towards Market Harborough at the time of the crash, which happened close to Kibworth tip.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been travelling along the A6 this morning and witnessed the collision.
They would also like people to check whether they have captured any footage on Dash cam equipment.

The A6 was closed in both directions between the McDonald’s roundabout near Market Harborough and the West Langton Road junction near Kibworth until 2pm, to allow collision investigation work to take place.
