Man Denies Illegal Butchery Of Pigs At Harborough District Farm

A man has appeared in court and denied the illegal butchery of pigs at a farm in the Harborough District.
Robert Emerson pleaded not guilty to a number of animal welfare offences at Leicester Magistrates’ Court.
The 73-year-old, of Orchard Road, Broughton Astley, is being prosecuted by Leicestershire Trading Standards, after Police discovered a number of pigs, believed to have been slaughtered illegally, at a farm in Leire near Lutterworth in December last year.
He is due to appear in court again in the New Year.
