Man Airlifted To Hospital After A14 Crash

A man has been airlifted to hospital after being injured a crash on the A14 near Welford this morning.
A van and lorry were involved in the collision on the eastbound carriageway just after 9am.
Emergency services including fire crews and an air ambulance crew were sent to the scene.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service said: “Crews from Mereway, Guilsborough and Rothwell helped to release a person trapped in a vehicle and left them in the care of the air ambulance.
“All crews left the scene just before 11am.”
The injured man was taken to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
The A14 eastbound remains closed between the M1/M6 junction at Catthorpe and junction one at Welford, so a police investigation can take place.
There are also delays on the westbound carriageway, as one lane is closed past the scene.
