Major Restoration Work To Begin On St Dionysius Church

Major restoration work is about to start on Market Harborough’s St Dionysius Church as a fundraising appeal is launched to help pay for it.

Stonework on the exterior of the historic church needs to be restored at a cost of over £80,000 and scaffolding is in place ahead of the repairs getting underway.

Some of the money needed has already been secured through grants and money raised by the church, while applications for further funding have been submitted.

However, around £40,000 is still needed to complete the project, with residents and businesses urged to show their support.

John Gilding, chairman of the Friends of St Dionysius Church, which is leading the fundraising drive, spoke to HFM about why the work is needed:
