Major Clean-Up Underway To Rid Land Of Plastic
Written by HFM News on 10th June 2020
Work has begun to clear plastic from a large area of land between Market Harborough and Lubenham.
An investigation by Leicestershire County Council has found it was spread across the land by mistake, by contractors acting on behalf of the landowner.

Cllr Blake Pain, Cabinet Member for Minerals and Waste Planning, at the County Council told Hfm: “We are working closely with the landowner, who has agreed to remove the waste spread across a field north of Harborough Road, Harborough, and has been working around the clock to ensure the site is cleared.
“Officers have visited the site today and have observed that significant progress has been made and we expect the rest of the waste to be removed by the beginning of next week.”
The investigation was launched when members of the public raised the alarm last week.
