M1 Southbound Closed After Lorry Crash

The southbound carriageway of the M1 in Leicestershire remains closed after a crash involving two lorries caused a fire early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene near junction 20 at Lutterworth just before 5.30pm.

The motorway was shut in both directions while firefighters tackled the blaze, however the northbound side has since reopened.
Leicestershire Police say the southbound carriageway between junction 21 and junction 20 will stay closed until further notice to allow vehicles to be moved and for the damaged carriageway to be resurfaced.
It is not expected to re-open before 8pm.
No-one was injured in the crash.
