Leisure Centre Improvement Plan Set To Move Forward

The plan to make major improvements to Harborough Leisure Centre is set to move forward next week.
The District Council’s Cabinet is being asked to approve a Procurement Strategy, which would pave the way for investment totalling £8.5m.

It will be nearly two years before any improvements are made though, as nothing can happen until a new leisure contract takes effect in April 2024.
Lutterworth Sports Centre will receive a £1m refurbishment if the strategy is approved.
Details of what improvements will be made are still to be confirmed.
Although the Council will initially fund the work, the cost will be re-paid by the operator of the centres during the duration of the contract.
