Lasting Legacy From Platinum Jubilee To Be Created Across Harborough

A lasting legacy from the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is to be created across Harborough after grants totalling £630,000 were handed to nine community groups.
£70,000 has been given to each project to represent her late Majesty’s 70-year reign, after Harborough District Council set-up a special fund.
Successful projects will see Jubilee Walks in Kibworth Beauchamp, Houghton on the Hill and Claybrooke Magna, a new garden at Ashby Parva Village Hall and new porch area at All Saints Church in Gilmorton.
New inclusive play and gym equipment will be installed in Great Glen, new play equipment will also go up at the Coventry Road Recreation Ground in Lutterworth, which will be renamed ‘The Platinum Jubilee Play Area,’ and a multi-use games area will be created in South Kilworth.
Improvements will also be made to the community centre at Lutterworth Church.
Harborough District Council invited applications to the special Platinum Jubilee Grant Fund earlier this year.
