Lambs found slaughtered in Kelmarsh

Written by on 15th July 2019

Police are urging rural communities to look out for any suspicious
activity following a sickening spate of crimes where livestock have been
killed and professionally butchered in their field.

The latest in a string of similar incidents happened over the weekend –
when the remains of at least fifteen lambs, including one ewe, were
found in a field near Kelmarsh.

The gruesome discovery was reported by Erica Hankins – who posted
photographs on Facebook of the carnage they discovered at their farm,
off Harrington Road, on Saturday morning.

Northamptonshire Police say the lambs appear to have been professionally
herded and slaughtered before their carcasses were stolen, so the
criminals must have some farming experience.

Officers are urging anyone with any information to report it to them as
soon as possible on 101 – or anonymously via Crimestoppers on
0800-555-111.
