Written by HFM News on 6th November 2024
Kibworth tip is closed until further notice over safety concerns after an HGV caused damage at the site.
A structural assessment now needs to be carried out at the Recycling and Household Waste site off the A6.
As a result of the closure, Leicestershire County Council has announced Market Harborough tip will be open everyday until and including Saturday November 16th.
The site on Riverside is usually open Thursday to Saturday, but will continue to be open all next week.

Leicestershire County Council has apologised for the disruption, but says the safety of staff and site users is its top priority.
A spokesperson told HFM: “An HGV which was replacing a waste container at the site on Tuesday afternoon caused damage to the steel canopy over the bays.
“In order to ensure the safety of staff and site users, a structural assessment needs to be carried out, which we are endeavouring to have completed as soon as possible.
“As a result, the Kibworth RHWS will be closed until further notice.
“The site will reopen when it has been determined that it is safe to do so.
“Market Harborough RHWS will be open every day from Thursday 7 November until and including Saturday 16 November.
“We apologise for the disruption the Kibworth closure will cause, but the safety of staff and site users is our top priority.”
