Investigation After Woman Suffered Head Injury

Police are investigating after a woman suffered a head injury while walking near Saddington.
Officers are trying to establish how she came to sustain the injury, whether there was any third-party involvement, or if any criminal offences occurred.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “Just after 11.50pm on Wednesday (11 June) a report was received that a woman had returned home with a head injury after walking along Fleckney Road in Saddington.
“An investigation is continuing and officers were in the area yesterday (Thursday) carrying out searches, CCTV and house-to-house enquiries.
“Specially-trained officers are continuing to provide support to the woman and her family.”

Fleckney Road was closed for most of yesterday
Fleckney Road between Saddington and Fleckney was closed for most of yesterday to allow for searches to take place and a forensic investigation to be conducted.
Detective Inspector Lorna Granville said: “I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone who was driving along Fleckney Road between Saddington and Fleckney between 10.15pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday – particularly those with a dashcam in their vehicle.
“Any footage you can provide could assist our investigation.”
