Inquest Opens After Cable Car Tragedy

An inquest has opened into the deaths of a Market Harborough couple in a cable car crash in Italy.

Elaine and Graeme Winn were tragically killed alongside two others near Naples on April 17th, while on holiday.

The inquest was opened in Leicester this morning and adjourned until a date to be set, while authorities in Italy continue to investigate the crash.

Mr Winn, 64, had recently retired and Mrs Winn, 58, worked as a business manager at Welland Park Academy, where she was described as a ‘much-loved and highly respected member of the school community’.

The couple were keen motorcyclists and following their deaths tributes were also paid by members of the motorcycling group they set-up
