Written by HFM News on 15th March 2022
How Police caught a gang responsible for illegal sheep butchery across Northamptonshire is featuring in a new TV show.
Over 100 animals were killed during seven months in 2019, including in fields in Clipston, Kelmarsh, Rushton and Welford.
Special Ops: Crime Squad UK details the work of officers who launched a dedicated police operation, Operation Stock, to find those responsible for the crimes, which had left farmers gripped with fear.
It features the moment the gang were arrested, when the van they were in was stopped on the A14 near Welford, moments after sheep had been killed near-by.
Bloodied butcher knives, a motorised air pump and nine sheep carcasses were found in the back.
