House Fire In Market Harborough

Firefighters are tackling a fire at a house in Market Harborough.

They were called to Meadow Street just before 3.15pm today and a large amount of smoke could been seen rising from the property.

Three fire engines and an aerial platform ladder are at the scene and near-by residents are urged to keep windows and doors closed.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service say no-one has been injured and a spokesperson told HFM: “We received a call reporting a fire on Meadow Street in Market Harborough at 15:13 this afternoon, and crews from Market Harborough and Wigston attended.

“Further deployment of crews from Kibworth and Central Stations (including Central’s aerial ladder) have taken place, with crews using breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

“All persons are accounted for, but this is an ongoing incident and we would urge motorists to avoid the area and find alternate routes, and for local residents to stay indoors and close their doors and windows.”
