Horses Led To Safety After Fire In Husbands Bosworth

15 horses had to be led to safety after a fire in Husbands Bosworth last night.

Firefighters arrived to find several small blazes across two fields on Welford Road, including 25 hay bales alight.

The blaze is being treated as ‘suspicious’ by Police, who have launched an investigation and appeal for information.

The RSCPA were called to the scene to deal with the animals and the road was closed by police because of smoke.

Fire crews were called at 5.20pm and were assisted by a farmer, who used machinery to move the hay so it could be extinguished.

They remained at the scene until 8.30pm, with a re-inspection of the area carried out this morning.
