There is hope Market Harborough’s Bonmarché shop could be saved from closure as a rescue deal looks set to be completed.
Sister firm Peacocks wants to buy the national women’s clothing retailer out of administration, although as part of the deal 30 under-performing stores would close.
‘Closing Down Sale’ posters appeared in the windows of the shop in St Mary’s Place last month, although administrators have yet to confirm which stores will continue trading and which ones will shut if the deal goes through.
Bonmarché has 318 shops nationwide, employing 2,887 people.
