Hidden Hearts in Harborough Celebrate MS Awareness Week

Written by on 24th April 2024

A challenge is underway to try to find over 20 orange knitted hearts hidden all around Harborough.

To mark Multiple Schlerosis Week, which runs from April 22nd to 28th 2024, it’s the idea of former Harborough Mail reporter, Jemma Redden, who was first diagnosed with the “invisible” neurological condition 15 years’ ago.

So far, the 38-year-old has completed 3,288 miles of her 5,000 mile sponsored walk in aid of the MS Society, which she hopes to complete within 5 years, to mark her 40th birthday.

Meantime, Jemma has left the orange knitted hearts, which were handmade by her mum, hidden around the district inside see-through bags with a poem that reads: “Invisible hues paint my story untold, MS Awareness Week, let’s be bold! Take me home, spread word far and wide, with #Invisible40, let’s walk side by side!”
