‘Big Community Switch’ Aims To Save People Across Harborough Money On Energy Bills

Written by on 2nd June 2023

People across Harborough are being encouraged to join together to save money on their energy bills.

The ‘Big Community Switch’ initiative will see suppliers bidding against each other to provide the lowest tariffs on a group basis.

The more who register – the better the deal is likely to be.

With energy costs set to remain high this year, Harborough District Council is teaming up with a switching platform to run the scheme.

Cllr Darren Woodiwiss is Cabinet lead for Environmental and Climate Change:

Once the cheapest supplier is identified, residents who have signed up to the scheme have a choice of whether to proceed and sign up with the new supplier.

There are no obligations for the resident to switch if they choose not to.

Register for the Harborough District Council ‘Big Community Switch’ scheme for free and without obligation before 21 June 2023 at: https://www.harborough.gov.uk/bigcommunityswitch

People who have registered by this date will receive their personal offer from 4 July, based on their registration details, and will be able to see how much money they could save.
