The Save Our NHS Leicestershire and Campaign Against NHS Privatisation groups gathered on The Square on Saturday afternoon, as part of the national day of action.
Campaigners, who say they received good support from members of the public, gave speeches as they called on the government to make urgent investment into the NHS, to help slash long waiting times and improve staffing levels.
They also want a pay rise for all NHS and care workers and, locally, a firm commitment from the Government to fund in full Leicester’s hospital reorganisation scheme with enough beds and space to ‘future proof’ it.
