Harborough’s Volunteers Honoured During Volunteers’ Week

People who give up their time to help others across Harborough are being celebrated during Volunteers’ Week.
Town-based charity VASL, which co-ordinates a number of schemes across the district, will recognise them and encourage others to get involved at an event tomorrow.
It is teaming up with Voluntary Action Leicestershire to host it at the VASL base on Torch Way, off Northampton Road.
Meanwhile, a new event hosted by VASL will be held at the Methodist Church in Market Harborough on Wednesday and on the first Wednesday of every month going forward, for people experiencing loneliness.
It will allow them to find out more about the various free services on offer to help, as Charity Manager Maureen O’Malley told HFM:

2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week and as well as recognising the positive impact of volunteering, it’s also an opportunity to encourage more people to give it a go in whatever way works for them.
