Harborough’s History Goes On-Line

A new way to delve into the history of Market Harborough has been launched.
‘Highlights of Harborough’ – a new, online version of an project created by volunteers at Harborough Museum – lets people browse through much of the museum’s fascinating collection of old photographs and audio clips.

It also gives visitors the chance to contribute to the collection by sharing their stories, photographs, comments and videos.

Some of the highlights of the project include interviews with former workers at Woolworths and the Symington corset factory, and a wide range of pictures – including images of troops in the Market Square preparing to leave for the First World War in 1914.
