Harborough Tip Set To Be Busy After Closure Of Lutterworth Site

Market Harborough tip is set to be extra busy over the next few days after the site Lutterworth was closed due to staff shortages.

People who would usually use the household waste and recycling in Lutterworth will be visiting alternative sites, as it is closed today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.

Leicestershire County Council say illness, coupled with the continuing difficulties in recruiting and retaining staff, means there will not be enough workers available to operate it.

A spokesperson said: “Our staff have been working very hard to keep our waste sites open and keep any disruption to the service to a minimum but staff shortages remain a continuing issue.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and we would like to thank people for their understanding and patience.”
