Go-Ahead For School To Support More Pupils With Additional Needs

The go-ahead has been given for a Market Harborough school to create dedicated space for youngsters with additional educational needs.
Robert Smyth Academy has been granted planning permission to build the Communication and Interaction Resource Base in the school grounds on Burnmill Road.
It will enable 15 children with conditions like autism to enroll at the Academy, instead of having to travel elsewhere, due to a lack of such provision in the town.
An existing aging building and former caretaker’s house will be demolished to make-way for the new facility, which is part of planned improvements at the school totaling £3.5m.
