Harborough Rapid Test Centre Identifies Asymptomatic People
Written by HFM News on 3rd March 2021
A rapid Covid-19 test centre in Market Harborough has identified people who have the virus, but did not know it.
570 key workers, and people not able to work from home, have been screened at Harborough Leisure Centre, since the facility opened three weeks ago.
Leicestershire County Council say ‘a small’ number of people have tested positive, but have not revealed the number.
The test centre, which is open six days a week, aims to find the estimated one in three people who have the virus but show no symptoms, to stop the virus spreading.
People who attend use lateral flow tests, which provide results in a few hours.
Anyone who currently cannot work from home and is eligible, can book a test at www.leicestershire.gov.uk/covidtest
