Harborough District Council Proposes Tax Rise Of 2.99%

Written by on 9th January 2023

Harborough District Council is proposing a council tax increase of 2.99%.

It would mean residents living in a Band D home paying just over £5 more a year to the authority for the services it provides, taking the charge to £183.29.

The move would generate an additional £357,000 and is part of the council’s budget proposals, which will be discussed by members of its Cabinet next week.

Services provided by the District Council include waste and recycling, planning, parks and open spaces, street cleaning and environmental health.

Leicestershire County Council is proposing increasing its part of bills by 5%, while Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner is also set to raise his element of the bill.
