Hallaton Bottle Kicking Returns For 2024

One of the country’s oldest continued customs will be held in Hallaton on Easter Monday.
The traditional Bottle Kicking dates back 2,000 years and is set to attract thousands of visitors.
The rugby-style event will see villagers take on residents from neighbouring Medbourne to wrestle bottles over fields in a bid to claim victory.

It will also include traditional parades as well as a church service and organisers have this year launched a fundraising drive to support the costs of putting on the event.
Phil Allen is chairman of Hallaton Bottle Kicking and this year marks the 50th year he has helped organise it.
