Grants & Support Offered To Help People Across Harborough Become Lorry Drivers

A new scheme has been launched to encourage people across Harborough to become lorry drivers.

It is aimed at helping those on low incomes, or who were on furlough, and with the nationwide shortage of truckers.

Grants of up to £1,500 are being offered to fund a person’s HGV or LGV licence and support will be offered through driver training courses.

Harborough District Council has teamed up with Job Centre Plus for the initiative, using government cash.
