Go-Ahead Set For New Accommodation For The Homeless In Market Harborough

Plans to build new temporary accommodation for the homeless in Market Harborough town centre are set to be approved next week.
Councillors are being recommended to approve plans to demolish a former house on Roman Way, to make way for a three-storey building, which would house nine apartments.

The development by Harborough District Council, near the Church Street junction, would create much-needed accommodation, as the number of people declaring themselves homeless locally continues to rise.
It will also help the council save money, with less reliance on expensive temporary private accommodation.
A former house would be demolished to make way for the new facility.
