Written by on 2nd February 2022

The go-ahead has been given for a new parking payment system at Foxton Locks.

It means the Canal and River Trust can introduce automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology, to replace the current pay and display method.

Planning permission has been granted for the Trust to install new payment machines at other equipment at the historic site.

Once in operation it will also allow visitors to pay by card or via their mobile.

The Trust says there are no ‘immediate plans’ to increase parking charges as part of the changes.
