Go-Ahead For New All-Weather Sports Pitch In Market Harborough

The go-ahead has been given for a new state-of-the-art all-weather sports pitch at Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough.
The flood-lit facility, costing around £600,000 will be used by students as well as the town’s hockey club and made available to other community groups.

The pitch will be constructed on part of the school field off Burnmill Road.
Harborough Council’s planning committee granted planning permission for the pitch last night, with restrictions on when floodlights can be used, in a bid to prevent disturbance to near-by residents:
- Monday and Friday 08.00 – 17:30
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 08.00 – 21.00
- Saturday 10.00 – 17:30
- Sunday, Bank and Public Holidays – NO USE
