Go-Ahead For 700 New Homes Despite Safety Concerns

Written by on 19th October 2022

The go-ahead has been given for 700 new homes in Desborough, despite a quiet cul-de-sac being turned into an access road.

The houses will form phase two of the Grange estate, although residents of Rowan Close expressed serious safety concerns, as they estimate around 200 vehicles an hour will use their street at busy times, to access the new part of the estate.

Over 150 people and a number of councillors signed a letter objecting to the plan by Bellway Homes, although it was approved this week by North Northamptonshire Council’s strategic planning committee.

A decision was previously deferred by councillors, while further information was sought.
