Funding Boost To Continue Vital Service

A Market Harborough charity is celebrating receiving £250,000 of National Lottery funding so it can continue running its ‘Community Champions’ project for another three years.
The vital service aims to reduce loneliness for people aged over 60 who live alone in the Harborough District, through a variety of initiatives, including a befriending service and group events.
The project run by VASL is supported by a team of around 60 volunteers and provides much-needed human connection and access to local services, creating a supportive network for those who may otherwise feel left out or forgotten.
