Frustration At Further Delay To Railway Station’s New Toilets

Network Rail has apologised that new toilet and waiting room facilities at Market Harborough Railway Station are still not ready.
They were due to open this week but building work has been delayed, meaning it is likely to be another four weeks before they do.
Passengers have been using temporary toilets for the past three years and Cllr Phil Knowles, who has been campaigning for the work, told Hfm it is disappointing:

Gary Walsh, East Midlands Route Director for Network Rail, told HFM: “Passengers will have seen that the new toilet block and waiting room at Market Harborough station is really coming to life, but we’re sorry it’s taking longer than planned.
“A number of factors, including poor weather conditions, have impacted our progress and despite our teams’ best efforts, we haven’t been able to make up the lost time.
“I’d like to thank people for their continued patience and look forward to delivering better facilities for passengers by the end of June.”
