Free Weekend Bus Travel During August

You’ll be able to travel by bus in Market Harborough and further afield for free on every weekend in August.

Leicestershire County Council is waiving fares on routes it supports – including the town’s ‘HC’ services  – to encourage more people to get on board.

The Fab Free Fares scheme comes after a shake-up of subsidised services earlier this year.

Charles Whitford, the council’s lead member for highways and transport, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity to travel completely for free in August and try out new and improved bus services in your area.

“There is also the added benefit of cutting pollution and helping improve air quality in Leicestershire.”

The council says the initiative will be available to every passenger, with no age restrictions, on Saturday and Sundays throughout August.
