Free Saturday Parking Starts Tomorrow

There is free parking in Market Harborough on Saturdays throughout December, in a bid to encourage people to shop local.

Harborough Council is offering four-hours free in its short-term car parks and is waiving charges all day in long-term parking areas.

The initiative starts tomorrow, which is Small Business Saturday, a national initiative to support independent retailers, and continue on the next three Saturdays.

Drivers will stay have to obtain a ticket from machines, despite not having to pay.

The Council has offered free parking on Saturdays during the festive period for the past few years, with traders reporting a higher footfall in the town centre.

There will also be free parking in the Council’s car parks in Lutterworth on Saturdays this month.
