Former Social Club Among Vacant Market Harborough Units ‘Under Offer’

Two prominent empty commercial properties in Market Harborough could soon have new uses.

A former Working Men’s Club on Northampton Road, most recently used as offices, is now listed as ‘under offer’ after being on the market for more than a year.

The Northampton Road building, affectionately known as the ‘Bottom Club’ when it was a social club, was initially marketed at £700,000 before the price was reduced to £525,000.

The club closed in 2010 before being converted into offices for Market Harborough Building Society the following year, before being vacated when the organisation moved its head office operations to The Point business park.

Meanwhile, a new occupier could soon move into the former Cancer Research UK shop on Coventry Road after an offer to rent the unit was accepted in principle. The shop shut in April as part of a shake-up of the charity’s retail operations nationwide.

No details have been released about the potential occupiers for either premises.
