Football Fever Ahead Of Historic FA Cup Clash

Excitement is building ahead of Harborough Town’s historic FA Cup first-round tie tomorrow.

The Bees are away at Tonbridge Angels in what is arguably the biggest game in the club’s history.

It is the first time the Bees have reached  this stage of the competition, under manager Mitch Austin.

Harborough Chief Executive Laurence Jones told HFM it will be a momentous day:

Over 400 Harborough Town fans will be making the trip to Kent to cheer on the team and Co-Chairman Peter Dougan says they will play a big part:

Harborough go into the match as underdogs with their hosts playing in National League South, one division above.

Striker Tendai Daire says the team is full of confidence after defeating Bury at home 1-0 last month in the final qualifying round:

The world famous FA Cup trophy visited yesterday and the club opened its doors to the community to visit and have a photo next to the silverware.

Mitch Austin marked his fourth anniversary with the club this week and since then has guided Harborough to two promotions.

He told HFM how he is feeling ahead of tomorrow:

Harborough centre forward Ben Stephens scored the goal to put Harborough through to the first round proper of the competition and says he is relishing the opportunity to progress further:
