Flood Alert Issued For River Sence

A flood alert has been issued for the River Sence in Leicestershire, as Storm Goretti brings the risk of flooding from heavy rain and melting snow.

Low-lying farmland and roads around Great Glen, Kilby Bridge, South Wigston and Blaby could be affected, along with the road at Crow Mills.

The Environment Agency say river levels are expected to rise until early this afternoon.

People are being urged to take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
