Flat Searched In Murder Investigation

Police have searched a flat in Desborough as part of an investigation into the murder of a man in Kettering.
Jeffrey Burton, 50, died in hospital on Sunday after being seriously assaulted in London Road during the early hours of last Wednesday.
Several officers were involved in the search operation at the property in Gold Street, as enquiries into the death continue.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police told HFM: “Searches were carried out at a property in Gold Street, Desborough over the weekend, as part of the murder investigation launched following the death of a 50-year-man in Kettering.”
Detectives say a post-mortem investigation took place at Leicester Royal Infirmary which concluded Mr Burton had died as a result of a head injury, but further medical tests are still pending.
A 34-year-old man from Kettering and a man aged 32 from Corby have been arrested on suspicion of murder and have been conditionally bailed.
Three Kettering women, aged 45, 40 and 23, three men aged 60, 55 and 31, from Kettering and a man aged 34 from Corby, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conditionally bailed.
Dozens of detectives, police officers and staff are continuing to work on the investigation and are continuing to appeal for information or for witnesses to come forward.
