A Market Harborough firm is in line for a business award, following the death of its founder.
The Ideal Marketing Company is shortlisted in the Outstanding Personal Achievement category of the Harborough Business Awards, taking place next month.
The nomination focused on the response of staff and co-founder Helen Campbell, after her husband Alastair – who was well-known in the community – suffered a cardiac arrest in the office in 2017, before passing away last year.
A prominent member of the Market Harborough business community and President of the town’s Chamber of Commerce, Alastair’s sudden illness had a significant impact on the community as well as on the company.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, the staff team, led by Helen, pulled together and even managed to grow in the face of adversity.
Current Managing Director, Jess Shailes, who put forward the nomination said: “Anyone who knows Helen knows her strength and positive attitude. I have witnessed first hand an incredible personal achievement in the face of adversity which deserves to be recognised. While the team’s commitment is commendable it’s no surprise to me that Helen inspires that kind of commitment and support, as she leads by example.”
