Fears Planning Changes Will Create ‘Free For All’ For Developers

There are fears sweeping planning reforms will lead to a ‘free for all’ for developers across Harborough.
Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has announced plans for ‘permission in principle’ to be automatically given to developments on land designated for renewal, to speed up building in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Cllr Phil Knowles, Leader of the opposition at Harborough Council, spoke to Hfm:
The government says Councils will still be left in ‘overall control’ of new developments if the new approach is approved.
