Coronavirus Cases Drop In Harborough District
Written by HFM News on 4th August 2020
Cases of Coronavirus in the Harborough District are falling, according to latest government figures.
There were four new confirmed cases in the week ending July 30th, compared to seven the week before – meaning the district’s seven-day rate is now 4.3 per 100,000 people.
At the start of July that figure jumped to 20.5 per 100,000.
Harborough Council Leader Phil King told Hfm that despite the figures falling, it is important people are not complacent:
There is concern in the Melton area of Leicestershire, as it had a higher seven-day infection rate than Manchester, where strict measures have been introduced.
The borough now has a rate of 37.2 cases per 100,000 people, up from 17.6 cases per 100,000 the week before.
