Families Invited to Free Buggy Walks in Welland Park for Snowdrop Appeal

Written by on 24th January 2026

Families with children under five are being invited to take part in two free organised buggy and toddler walks in Market Harborough in support of a charity’s annual Snowdrop Appeal.

The walks will take place in Welland Park at 10am on Monday (26 January) and 16 February.

They have been organised by Active Mums Club in partnership with Home-Start South Leicestershire, offering parents and carers a relaxed chance to enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise and social connection while spending time outdoors with their children.

Emily Booth from Active Mums Club said: “We run regular buggy walks across Leicestershire and they are a lovely, gentle way for parents and young children to get outside during the winter months, enjoy some fresh air, and meet other local families. Partnering with Home-Start South Leicestershire gives the walks an extra sense of purpose, helping to raise awareness and support for families who need it most across our community.”

Welland Park provides a safe, scenic and pushchair-friendly setting, and families are encouraged to look out for snowdrops along the route — a seasonal symbol of hope and renewal.

Home-Start’s Snowdrop Appeal runs throughout January and February and invites people to submit photographs of snowdrops or snowdrop-themed artwork to be shared on the charity’s social media pages.

At the end of the appeal, two entries will be chosen at random to receive vouchers donated by local businesses Langton Greenhouse & Garden Centre and Lamport Hall.
