‘Freddie’ The Falcon Re-United With Owner

A Falcon rescued from the top of a house in Market Harborough yesterday has been reunited with its owner.

The bird of prey, named Freddie, escaped from an aviary in Stoke-On-Trent on Saturday and got trapped 30ft up on a TV aerial in Nithsdale Avenue, when straps on its feet got tangled.

Fire crews called to the scene by concerned passers-by had to call in an aerial platform ladder to bring it down.

Freddie’s owner, who was able to confirm the bird’s identity after being alerted to what happened by a  story on Hfm yesterday, is thanking firefighters for their efforts in rescuing the bird, which escaped with just minor injuries, and staff at Ash Tree Vets in Market Harborough, who looked after him.
