Evacuation After Fire Alert

The Symington Building in Market Harborough was evacuated earlier after a fire alert
Three fire crews were called to Adam and Eve Street just after 10.30am, after the fire alarm had sounded.
Council workers had to leave, as well as those in the Library, Musuem, coffee shop and Gallones Ice Cream Parlour.
A light fitting in the ice cream shop had overheated and caused smoke which triggered the alarms.
People were allowed back in when firefighters confirmed there was no blaze.
