Emotional & Powerful Tributes Paid To The Queen By Harborough Councillors

A series of powerful and emotional tributes were paid to the Queen by Harborough councillors last night.
The extraordinary meeting of the District Council also heard members pledge their allegiance to the new King Charles.

The meeting at the Symington Building began with a minute’s silence and prayer, before councillors, including Cllr Michael Rickman spoke:

Cllr Phil King, Leader of the Council, spoke of the Queen’s connections to the Harborough area, including visits to Thorpe Lubenham Hall in her younger years,while Cllr Phil Knowles recalled the time her met The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
